Alex and Coady's Wedding

The wedding began with music by cousin Bryce, with Jasper assisting in the windy weather. The wedding ceremony was conducted by my mom's cousin, Father Jim, and he did an incredible job with a sweet, personal ceremony that wasn't so long that groomsmen passed out in the 99-degree weather!

Coady, full of emotions as she walked down the aisle. After the ceremony, we all gave hugs and handshakes as signs of peace, including a hug for her new mother-in-law -

First kiss as husband and wife -

Announcing the new couple - giddy with the husband and wife titles -

Coady and Alex skipped back down the aisle. And Cas and I, both in the wedding, were able to link arm for photos as partners in the wedding party -

Back inside, it was time for posed shots. I didn't know what to do with my hands, and Coady suggested holding hers. Alex apparently thought that was strange -

The bridesmaids, Coady and Alex. And my Aunt Rita and Uncle Dick. My Uncle Dick is a wedding videographer extraordinaire, and put together a great collage of photos as well as took hours of video at the rehearsal and ceremony. This is probably one of two photos where he's not behind a camera at the end of the reception.

We couldn't help but try for a family photo with Collin in a yellow tie. Here we are trying to get our little guy to smile for the camera -

Everyone looking, Collin quite serious -

LOVE this kid!

Everyone smiling, Collin not looking -

As the night continued, Collin went home with his Great Uncle Larry, falling asleep in the car on the way home. Cas and I got to stay late to enjoy the dancing. And I enjoyed watching Alex and Coady so happy together that I stood there with tears of joy rolling down my face!

After a spectacular day, we went back to our hotel room to our son. As Larry was leaving, Collin woke up and saw us. So the night ended blissfully for me, with my sweet boy falling asleep on my chest . . . and then as soon as his breathing indicated he was fast asleep, we transferred him back to the crib. The lights were out here, the flash was very effective, but the sweetness of my boy asleep on me is like nothing else in the world!
