Good-bye Twenties

Today I leave behind my youthful twenties and yet again face the fact that I am no longer a kid. When I turned 20, I thought it was a big deal. Though many of my college classmates more eagerly awaited their 21st birthday, I remember acknowledging that the twenties was the decade where likely huge milestones would await -first job, getting married, possibly starting a family.

My twenties were
- a great college experience and growing in my faith at A&M
- saying "yes" to Cas on the Empire State Building and marrying him a year later
- first trip to Europe where our relationship was put to the test on the streets of Italy
- first job and lots of Southwest Airlines free flights
- meeting wonderful friends in our newlywed Sunday School class
- saying good-bye to both of my grandfathers
- grad school graduation on Friday and moving to our new house on Saturday
- our first "baby" - Bruno, followed by Fergie 6 months later
- the birth of our son 6 days after my 29th birthday
- my brother getting engaged 9 days before my 30th birthday

It was the decade my adult life began, and God has blessed me with a much better life than I could have ever planned for myself ten years ago. While I am confronted with how quickly life is passing by, I am thankful for the spot God has me and even more grateful that He will continue to work in me all the remaining days of my life.
