At one, Collin loves walking with his shopping cart, taking a few steps to our praise and applause, eating yogurt, bananas and peanut better, and blueberry pancakes, still putting EVERYTHING in his mouth, petting his dogs, playing hide and seek, reading his touch-and-feel and turn-the-flap books, and swinging, spinning, and being tossed in the air. He has his mom wrapped around his finger, whining when she puts him down or moves out of eyesight. He has his dad trained to play ridiculous repetitive games to draw out his crinkled nose smile.
We realize that we are so blessed to have him for a son. I'm sure if God grants us another child, Cas and I will be humbled to realize it was not our superior parenting that made Collin a great child (as in good natured, good sleeper and napper, good reader, etc) but only God's grace. But we are so thankful for what an easy transition into parenthood he gave us and the depths of love and joy he's allowed us to experience. Happy first birthday, Collin Jackson!
Enjoy every second as you are RIGHT it goes by very FAST! There IS NO GREATER JOY than to witness every milestone they reach every day!
