After celebrating with aunts and uncles the day before his birthday, Collin agrees that it is -

Especially when turning a year older brings new additions to the kid-clutter of our home -

Through the tunnel and in the ball pit -

Once inside, he just sat there kicking his legs in excitement -

We took him away from his new toy and gave him some pizza. He was not thrilled -

I guess turning one means our strict, healthy diet for Collin has gone out the window . . . at least for a night. There are some things that I'm probably too laid back about - like how his chew toys and the dog toys are interchangeable - and things like his food and schedule I'm probably too uptight about. It's the first time he's had pizza for dinner and his first taste of cake.
He was neutral to the pizza, but shook his head and clamped his mouth shut for the cake. I thought surely after 9 months in utero with ample chocolate, he'd be addicted too, but maybe I should have tried the vanilla cupcake.
Happy Birthday dear Collin -

What is this? I'll just rip it apart and drop it on the floor for the dogs -

Or squish it between my fingers -

Cake on the hands is more fun than cake in the mouth - whose child is this?

Somebody get me out of here -

While he didn't respond to the attention and cameras trying to capture his first bite of cake, he became a ham for the crowd, screaming to get a reaction out of his family -

Present time - hypnotized by the disco wand -

Playing with Great Aunt Rosalyn and Grandma Libia -

Our friends Kelly and Chris introduced us to a game for our dogs where we'd move a laser light around the room or backyard and the dogs would go CRAZY chasing after it. We had to quit when Bruno would schizophrenically search for the laser dot anytime we let him outside at dark. Anyway, I was reminded of the dot when cousin Gabriel had Collin chasing after the disco wand pattern on the ground -

Carting around some of his new toys -

Sharing the shopping cart with cousin Matthew -

It was my first time to make cupcakes, and I was so proud of myself for spelling out "Happy 1st Birthday" in icing on them but failed to take a picture of my culinary handiwork. The leftovers -

We were so thankful that Collin's aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents drove out on a rainy Sunday for pizza and cupcakes to celebrate his first year.
