Collin's first Passover

My dad's family celebrates Passover every year. It is the Jewish holiday celebrating God's deliverance of the Jews from the tenth plague against the Egyptians that killed all of the firstborn sons, followed by God's parting of the Red Sea. As a Christian, I love Passover for all of its foreshadowing of my Savior - the spotless lamb whose blood makes God's wrath pass over me.

We celebrate the Seder meal with about 40 friends and family members. We had told Collin all about it, but his attention span didn't make it through the Seder ceremony. My dad graciously took Collin out of the room and we caught them watching the Final Four basketball game!

Here's Collin with his great aunt Cheryl

We posed for pictures before dinner began. My aunt Debbie's backyard provided some scenic backgrounds.

No, my mom and I are not in the same dress (though they're close). We took a full length shot to prove it.

At the end of the evening, the children search for a piece of matzah (called the afikomen). This year, all of the cousins were 13 or older - so Collin was the only child. Though he appears to be sleeping, he was really directing his dad to the hidden matzah!
