Practicing his strokes

Collin joined Jasper, Brownie and Grammy in Great Aunt Debbie's pool over 4th of July weekend. He doesn't love getting his face wet yet, but loves a motorboat rhyme that involves being spun around through the pool. My parents did this same pool game ad nauseam with Alex and me.

Collin practiced his swimming skills with Jasper, kicking and pulling with his arms -

I'm sure Collin will be a water bug eventually. I know we could put him in swim lessons that teach toddlers how to be comfortable underwater, but I'm convincing myself that it won't hamper his lifetime love for swimming if he's not diving for rings by the end of the summer.

Jasper demonstrated how the noodle can serve as a rain maker - which Collin then wanted to see again and again.

We had a fun afternoon with Collin, and then Cas and I were able to enjoy a dinner without reading Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See 11 times while encouraging a one-year-old to take another bite. It was a much appreciated date night thanks to grandparent baby-sitting!
