This week I spent my first night away from Collin on a business trip to Boston. And I got to experience the adventures of being a traveling nursing mom. Collin did wonderfully with dad, deciding to reserve the 2am parties for Cas' travel but not mine! I came home last night to a smiling, hungry boy - who I swear had grown in the 40 hours I had been away.
My first day in Boston, I had to kick my boss & co-worker out of the conference room they were using because it was the only closed-off, window-free room I could find. That was a little embarrasing for me, but paled in comparison to the horror to come - when my bag of milk broke off and spilled everywhere – all over me, a little on the desk, and all over the floor. I was so worried that I would smell like spoiled milk by dinner since I was stuck in my pants the rest of the day.
Then I kicked a vp out of the same room the following day. There were a bunch of people around, and I asked him if I could borrow the room for a few minutes. Later he asked me if my secret business was okay. I tried to explain that I was pumping, but he didn’t hear me, so now I’m sure he thinks I’m really weird.
On the upside, I slept all night without interruptions. And the best was that I got to fly home on the company plane, so I didn’t have to go through security with 40 oz of expressed milk!
